The Treasure Shop at Beaver Valley Outreach
Beaver Valley Outreach (BVO) is the heart of community support in the Town of The Blue Mountains. For over 40 years, this grassroots charitable organization has identified and met the evolving needs of the region, creating a compassionate network of volunteers and professionals dedicated to helping their neighbors.
Operating out of their community hub in Thornbury, BVO offers an extensive array of services that support families, seniors, and individuals:
The Treasure Shop: A well-loved community thrift store that sells donated clothing, housewares, and books, with all proceeds directly funding BVO’s local outreach programs.
Food Security & Basic Needs: BVO operates a local food cupboard and coordinates emergency assistance, ensuring that no resident in the Beaver Valley goes without essential supplies.
Childcare & Youth Programs: They provide high-quality licensed preschool and school-age childcare, as well as summer camps and youth engagement initiatives.
Senior Support: From "Breakfast Club" social gatherings to information and referral services, BVO helps local seniors remain active, connected, and supported in their homes.
Community Programs: These include the "New to You" Christmas Hamper program, emergency financial assistance, and various recreational activities designed to foster a strong, inclusive community.
Driven by the motto "Making Good Things Happen," Beaver Valley Outreach relies on a robust network of hundreds of volunteers and local partnerships to maintain the social fabric of the South Georgian Bay area.
