Date: Wednesday, July 1st Celebrate Canada Day across our region’s two distinct hubs! Catch the community parade and riverfront vibes in the afternoon, then head to the mountain for big concerts and fireworks at night. 🍏 Hub 1: Thornbury & Clarksburg Best for: The classic community parade, main street shopping, and local dining. Spend your morning and afternoon exploring our downtown cores along the Beaver River: The Canada Day Parade (11:00 AM): Watch the annual parade march from downtown Clarksburg at 11:00 AM and travel down Marsh/Bruce Street, arriving in downtown Thornbury by 11:15 AM. O Canada & Cake (12:00 PM): Head to the Thornbury Bakery right after the parade for free Canada Day cupcakes and celebrations! Stroll & Shop: Discover independent boutiques, galleries, and cafes along Bruce Street or explore the local artisan studios in Clarksburg ("Artsburg"). Patio Dining: Fuel your day with farm-to-table menus or local cider on a scenic patio, like The Mill Cafe overlooking the Thornbury dam. 🏔️ Hub 2: Blue Mountain Village Best for: High-energy live music, kids' activities, and mountain fireworks. Presented by Subaru, the pedestrian village features live entertainment from afternoon until night on the Subaru Stage and Events Plaza: All-Day Fun (12:00 PM - 5:00 PM): A dedicated Kids Zone with interactive games, face painting, crafts, a Birds of Prey show, and roaming street performers. Live Concerts (8:00 PM - 10:15 PM): Evening sets by the Bernadette Connors Duo, followed by rock headliners The Wild High. Fireworks Finale (10:15 PM): Grab a spot in the Events Plaza or on a village patio to watch the sky light up over the mountain peaks. 💡 Quick Tip: Make it a full day! Start with the 8:30 AM pancake breakfast at the Clarksburg Legion, watch the 11:00 AM parade into Thornbury for lunch, then head over to the Village for afternoon fun, evening concerts and the 10:15 PM fireworks!
